A Love for Fishing

Professor Anthony Tomkowski is an experienced fisherperson  that has been teaching at West Virginia University in the forestry division for 45 years. This 72-year-old man teaches many courses, but the most distinct one is “Freshwater Fishing.” I’m currently a student in this class, Spring 2015, but I will be his last class because he’s retiring in June 2015. While this is bitter-sweet, I jumped on the chance to talk with him about a few of his fishing trips and why he loves to participate in this sport, something he’s been doing since he was about 3 years old.

In this interview, he talked about how he got into this sport, his biggest fish caught, and just why he’s so enamored with this sport.
